Situated next to Trearddur Bay beach in Anglesey, our cottage has remarkable coastal views that can be enjoyed from almost every room. With the beach a mere stone’s throw away right on the coastal path and popular tourist attractions like South Stack and Holyhead Mountain nearby, it is the perfect base to explore the natural beauty that Anglesey has to offer.
Boating cottage boasts a location that you really have to see to believe. Our sun room gives undisturbed, stunning sea views stretching right across the bay and just a few steps takes you straight to the beach, or on to the beautiful headland which joins part of the coastal path.
Our detached cottage is set across one level and welcomes up to 7 guests. We have two bathrooms and a separate toilet, so there won’t be any queuing to wash away those sandy toes. The living room holds a good sized TV if you fancy a cosy night in and this opens into the larger sun room which has panoramic views across the bay. The fully equipped kitchen gives you the option of cooking up a feast right from home with a local food shop just a 5 minute walk down the road, but, with many excellent (and highly recommend by us!) restaurants close by the choice really is yours.
You can enjoy watching the water sports on the bay (or even have a go yourself) with activities ranging from sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding and diving right on your doorstep. Love to fish? Sea fishing is free and available right next to the cottage for you to enjoy. Getting out on the water not really your thing? No problem. Why not pick up a net and wander down to the rock pools for an afternoon of crabbing or simply sit back in the sun room and unwind with a beautiful view and your favourite tipple.
Whatever holiday you are looking for, you can find it in Anglesey’s Trearddur Bay. If you love the outdoors there are endless beautiful walks straight from the front door of the cottage. We highly recommend the Anglesey coastal walk which can be done in sections throughout your stay. There are also several golf courses on Anglesey with Holyhead golf club situated just over a mile away. Cycling routes and bird watching opportunities are other popular activities to participate in whilst you are in the area. For families, there are so many activities and attractions to keep everyone entertained. If you want to stay close to home, there is a private pool that can be booked called Instant Swim half a mile up the road and a little further along there is a RSPB nature reserve on HolyHead mountain or a trip to South Stack Lighthouse. Holyhead sports centre also offers lots of indoor activities to book, including the increasingly popular sport of Pickleball (which we enjoy playing ourselves!) Or, hop in the car for a short drive into Holyhead if you’re looking for more shops, want to explore the surrounding beaches on Anglesey, or fancy a trip out to Foel Farm or the Sea Zoo. Caernarfon and Conway castles are within driving distance from the cottage, and with the port at Holyhead only 2 miles away you could even hop on a ferry and take a day trip over to Ireland.
In the cottage you will have WIFI, a fresh towel per guest and bed linen all included for the comfort of your stay. You will also have use of a high chair, TV, dishwasher, Air fryer, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge freezer to make your stay feel like home. In the summer months, there are plenty of outside spaces with garden furniture for you to enjoy and two parking spaces available for the duration of your stay.
At the cottage we also have a dedicated electric vehicle charging point.
Find your home away from home at Boating Cottage
Hello. Our names are Glenda and Steve and we'd like to welcome you to our cottage website. Boating cottage has been a much loved part of our family for over 50 years. We have loved visiting the cottage and enjoying beautiful Trearddur Bay with our family for many years.
In 2007 we started to renovate the cottage to transform it into the welcoming holiday home it now is. We have seen Trearddur Bay develop over the last 10 years and now there are a variety of top class pubs and restaurants within a few minutes stroll from the front door of the cottage. We feel fortunate to own a home in such a lovely part of Anglesey and we hope you will love your stay here as much as we continue to do.
Our warmest regards, Glenda and Steve.
“Another great holiday spent at Boating cottage, always enjoyed the conservatory but what a lovely surprise to find a new larger sunroom with fabulous views of sunrises… Top class cottage”
“Amazing place. Everything you need for a perfect chill out holiday. Cannot thank the owners enough for allowing us to stay in this perfect cottage. Claire kept it beautifully clean too for our arrival! We stayed the week of the three gales hitting Wales and still booked to return before the end of our holiday… says it all”
“That we have already booked for next year says it all. Location should be 11/10. Plenty of room in the ‘cottage’ and sitting in the conservatory room watching the tide is hypnotic. Very cosy, warm and comfortable… with at least four good pubs/ restaurants within a five minute walk eating out is never a problem”
“Fabulous location. We loved the property the moment we walked in and booked immediately for next year... we felt there was enough space to not feel on top of each other due to the lovely sun room overlooking the bay. Great value for money”
“Boating Cottage gives you the feel and wonderful views of the Bay and was a perfect holiday at a beautiful bay”
